Povidone Iodine works by releasing free iodine slowly from its polymer complex. This iodine penetrates microbial cells and disrupts their protein and nucleic acid structures, leading to rapid cell death. The polymer base reduces irritation and staining, making it suitable for repeated use on skin.

Povidone Iodine is a broad-spectrum antiseptic agent used extensively in medical and surgical settings for skin disinfection and wound care.
